My artist statement- I am a sound visual artist - making primarily electronic music. I practice video and graphic art to create a multisensory experience within our worlds that is either meditative or chaotic. Originally from Charlotte, NC, currently living in New York City. I love comedy 😭😹and pets 🐶😸. I make art to spread a positive message that challenges perspective, vulnerability, love and curiosity, finding a sensory line between the silly and the existential through rhythm and color. Mainly I produce under the name “guuumaqu” and am part of the duo "Amaquu" with "Aman". I DJ solo and alongside collaborators “Malaisebrigade” as “Basedmix”, “Trey Tarzia” as “Tremaqu,” and “Lilith” as “Liliqu.” I perform improvised electronic music with “Pon0p0no” under the name “jjagunomaqu.” Along with sound art I do video/ visual and conceptual work. I have been featured on albums with artists including “RXK Nephew,” “Cosmic Collective,” and “DJ Manny” from “Teklife.”
